1881 - January - Miners in Tombstone make $4 per day, working six days a week. Board is $8 per week and a house rents for $15 to $25 per month. Some quick math reveals that about 1/3 of a miner's wages went towards housing, a little better than 1/3 went for food, and the other 1/3 left for other necessities of life.
